Vandalism at Wistron The vandalism at Wistron at Karnataka is a worrying and very serious matter . The facility to manufacture high end i Phone was vantomly destroyed. Were they disgruntled employees or outside elements.? If they are employees can they have right to continue to be employed? If underpayment or non payment of dues in time were these issues discussed with Management and was there failure of negotiations or break down of communications, which is not apparent Why did police not intervene in real time and what is the reason of delay to curb the vandalism? What about internal security that did not offer any resistance or failed to seek Govt law enforcement agency ? It is a major disincentive ,set back for make in India initiative, as foreign investors will think twice of the security atmosphere in India. China has cautioned investors opening shop in India under such hostile atmosphere and indirectly hinting anout shifting from China It is believed that it is Taiwanese firm that owns the establhment, which causes apprehensions of instigation by vested enemy due to deep seated National conflict of interest and fuel rumours of security of investments Any inquiry must be swift and costs must be reimbursed and offer ironclad guranteeson security of operation and property.Those employees involveled must be sacked and others and conspirators dealt firmly so that the image of India as a welcome destination shall not be sullied The attitude of authorities concerned does not seem to inspire confidence and Karnataka as destination for investments has much to lose.
