The weekly was standard middle class catholic household reading back in my day 
in Bombay and was quite popular then. The articles were of wide interest, 
giving information about the Bombay diocese in the time when religion held a 
place of importance in family life.

I don’t know if that popularity  prevails to this day but I do know that 
diaspora Indian Catholics fruitfully use their matrimonial columns to find 
partners specifically from India or in the case of widowers, older females who 
they think will be of greater moral virtue than those they find (or cannot 
find) in their own environment.
