For the record, the arrival of alien form is recent history. Greek
pagan introduced to north-western Kashmir by Alexander's army, the Thomas
Semitism of two millenia in the deep South, and the simultaneous Semitic
introductions by the Portugueseand Central Asian invasions of six centuries.
Asokan ascetism was widespread, but forcefully contained, and succeeded
inovertaking much of east and southern Asia. My choice of labels is an attempt
at reducing the distracting effect of latter day quasi-political

He rightly mentions the fading of Hindustan from general vocabulary. Hindustan
never had any religious identity. When the Arabs received the Indian numeral
system, they called al Archan al Hindu. Poet Amir Khushru called Urdu
'Hindavi'.Post-Independence, the name was dropped in favor of Bharat which is
now the official name in The Constitution. Suddenly the word had become an
anathema.
