EXECUTIVE PRESSURIZING JUDICIARY The Supreme Court (SC) has rightly slammed the government for the three farmer laws passed during the pandemic in a hurry without proper consultation and wrong handling of the farmers agitation! The consequences are borne by the deaths and extreme hardships faced by the agitating farmers protesting peacefully reaching Delhi borders for 51 days now in the bitter cold and rains too. Isn't this prolonged stance unfair where there is absolutely no relenting by the authorities! Where is the will and voice of the people? The government has ben given enough rope and now wants the SC to stop the tractor ralley on Republic Day and mediate when it is not their purview to make policy and all they can say is there is no legal infirmity in the laws! Then like in the Central Vista case, they can claim SC has approved it? The SC has stayed the 3 contentious laws and formed a committee of eminent members unfortunately who are known to strongly support the government views! What is there left to discuss? After water cannons, tear gass and barriers to stop them, endless discussions, government insists on discrediting them with infiltrating Khalistani elements, vested interests, other unions etc! Strangely the SC does not seem to be bothered about the legality of various unconstitutional laws being legislated in quick time and some implemented retrospectively. There are reportedly PILs regarding CAA, UAPA, Love Jihad etc which should be priority are being held up. Repealing the laws, discussion in Parliament is the right and honorable way. This ramming of legislation is certainly not a good type of democracy?
