He was not as popular as Jim Reeves in Bombay of the day, but coming a close 
second, he was a handsome devil who had captured all the local girls’ hearts 
and those of every pretty Anglo Indian girl in railway towns throughout India. 
Bursting forth from Radio Ceylon with 18 Yellow Roses, Multiplication, Rhythm 
of the Rain, From A Jack To A King and a slew of others, he carried us from 
teens to adults.

18 Yellow Roses is now a tribute from every father to his daughter when he 
discovers that he no longer has a monopoly in her life. The love of his life 
was Sandra Dee with whom he spent most of his short story. When composing this 
album he is said to have sent 18 Yellow Roses everyday to her mother in 
gratitude.

Bobby Darin started out as a songwriter for Connie Francis, but his superb 
voice soon made him a youthful hit, a symbol of both sadness and joy. Dying of 
a heart attack when he was only 37, but composing and singing many top songs in 
between, he sang this emotional song that was to become the wedding number of 
every love struck American girl, just a few months before he died in 1973
