The BJP is in its last remaining steps to ensure the total saffronisation of Goa’s all vital administrative and autonomous bodies.
After earlier this month foisting the BJP flag at the Goa State Information Commission, the cabinet has yesterday approved the appointment of BJP State Executive Committee member and RSS leader Sukhaji Gajanan Naik as member of the very vital Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC). The 58 year old Sukhaji Naik who hails from Colvale is currently Vice-Principal of Porvorim based RSS run Vidya Prabodhini College. The BJP had just three days ago announced that Sukhaji Naik would assist BJP Vice-President Datta Kholkar in the campaign for the 2021 Pernem Municipal Election. The all very important Institution of GPSC deals with all matters relating to the method of recruitment to posts in civil services. It conducts examinations for appointments to the services in the state. It decides the principles to be followed in making appointments to posts in the civil services and in making promotions and transfers from one service to another and on the suitability of candidates for such appointments, promotions or transfers. The Goa State Service Commission is an institution of utmost importance created under Article 315 of the Constitution of India. For the efficient functioning of a democracy it is imperative that this Commission is manned by people of the highest skill and irreproachable integrity, so that the selections to various public posts can be immunized from all sorts of extraneous factors like political pressure or personal favoritism and are made solely on considerations of merit. So by appointing a very active member of the BJP with very deep RSS roots the government has totally compromised the integrity and autonomy of the GPSC.
