What a brilliant idea Sheena Pereira has come up with and my congrats on her launching the Goa Crochet group Those of my vintage and others may well remember how our good ladies of yore produced exquisite work in the shape of crochet table settings and even chair drapes to mention but a few. And what about the embroidery they did? Sadly, none of this was acknowledged at the time and I feel it would be worth honouring these creative women by continuing to encourage our younger generation to take an interest in these creative crafts. May I suggest that pottery too be added to the list of crafts. For far too long we have tended to look down on those engaged in these crafts but, in my book, these individuals are true artists and would be very highly regarded here in the West. Seeing the finished product is also very therapeutic in itself.
