‘Together for Ribandar’ for the three wards of Ribandar at the March 20th elections to the Corporation of City of Panaji has a combination of experience and new faces to ensure that Ribandar as a priority gets a Health Centre, Market, Football ground, Community hall and a proper Crematorium for the residents of Ribandar besides other issues that need to be resolved.
In Ward No 28 Keshav Narayan Sawant while in Ward No 29 Rupesh Ravindra Halankar and for Ward No 30 Suvarsha Tukaram Naik are the three candidates. An issue is sought to be raised as to why I did not ensure that one of these three candidates was a Catholic. To this all that I can humbly and respectfully say is that through my childhood I have grown up happily with friends from diverse communities. For me Caste, Creed or Religion has never ever been an issue or made any difference. Over the years I have been very privileged to interact with the rich and famous while also so blessed to have been able to spend time with the poorest of the poor. From starred hotels to resting at the huts of the impoverished in the interiors of Goa, I have seen it all. Let us all solemnly vow to ensure that our nation remains absolutely secular and very tolerant to all faiths and beliefs. We must always firmly believe and truly ensure that Temples, Mosques, and the Churches besides other places of worship should be our focal points to unite diverse communities instead of creating rifts amongst us. We are after all children of that one loving and extremely tolerant God. For the society to progress and prosper, we need to have individuals in public life with competence, honesty, dedication, humility, experience and selfless determination above all else. The Social and Political arena cannot be about personalities or religious and caste differences. It is much more than that!
