Biden has two big goals in getting Americans vaccinated against coronavirus: Distributing doses of the three vaccines approved for use so far in the United States, and convincing those Americans skeptical of the vaccines that they’re safe and effective. Both of those things got a little harder after it was revealed Wednesday that a contractor for Johnson & Johnson, which produces a single-shot vaccine approved for use in the U.S., Emergent BioSolutions, contaminated 15 million doses in the manufacturing process. That would be $150 million worth of vaccine, at the $10-a-dose price Johnson & Johnson charges for the finished product.
