The Panaji MLA Babush Monserrate has made his concerns public on his own government not doing enough to bring relief to COVID-19 infected patients.
With no respite in Covid cases and a third wave being predicted, it would be appropriate on the part of the MLA to prove his bonafides and allow his two hotels on the Miramar-Dona Paula road to be utilised as Covid centers. The seven storied 'Varando-do-Mar' and the eight storied 'The Crescent ' both in the same neighbourhood would be a huge relief and comfort to the Covid patients. Having failed to deliver on all his promises made to the voters, Babush Monserrate would be remembered at least for this one kind generosity during his last few months as MLA.Those who are treated for the virus in these two hotels would no doubt pray for Babush and his two structures which have been built in total violation of every prevalent regulation with even no designated parking place for a single vehicle. No wonder he has craftily chosen to be with the ruling party so that he can merrily be above the law. The Panaji MLA had earlier learnt the hard way by being in the Opposition, while still struggling with the infamous Panaji Police Station stoning case and that alleged Rape case. It is hoped that Babush Monserrate will translate his vocal concern for Covid patients by a real good deed in hosting them at his two now vacant hotels where the patients hit by the virus can comfortably recover. He would also be the first hotelier in Goa to offer his premises to the government for free to treat patients during this pandemic. The desperate plight of many dictates that such an act by Babush Monserrate is needed now to help give solace to the sick and dying.
