Hi Cornel,
This post is in response to your well-founded concers on the Dalit situation.
Yet let me try some humor first. You obviously have a lot of time on your
hands to produce so many posts. I guess as you are advancing in age, you are
no longer interested in the summer attire of the fair skin. So you sit in-front
of your computer, churning out post after post - private and public. Regarding
your Goan friends whom you met at the London pub .... how many rounds of lager
and Ale did you have to buy them to get them to suck up to you?.:=)) With your
long ... never-ending essays telling us how superior you are, (to me), you are
being a "casteist" (as per your definition).:=)) Hope you have not lost your
sense of humor.
Now to the serious topic:
I do not know the details about Dalits as they are not a traditional-cultural
group in Goa. Likely they may be new immigrants to Goa.
Yet, is the plight of the Dalits in India, the failure of the Goan Catholic
Church? Is the post below the situation in Goa?
Are you merely throwing the "kitchen sink" at me, and going in circles in
keeping with your customary practice?
Are we dialoguing about Goa or India or the world?
Beyond writing IPs, what specifically are you and your Goan pub-buddies doing
for the "caste situation" in Goa?
The All-India caste questions should really be addressed to some Congress or
BJP-RSS backers like Bhandare. Yet they are likely to ask you the same (last
question) as I did above. I would like to see Bhandare respond to your (and
mine) genuine concerns about the Indian Dalits. And you-both should have a
constructive dialogue on Dalits instead of trading gratuitous responses. This
discussion of the two of you will display if you-two are true progressive or
pseudo-progressive and Catholic-bashers.
I found it interesting that you and other Church-bashers had no response to the
history post in "Christianity as we know it." It is amazing how the
intellectual prowess melts when hard facts are presented.
Finally, the abuses I have received from you and others on Goanet for
supporting the Catholic Church and Catholics is par-for-the-course for being a
proud member of Knights of Columbus. That is something about the KC that Kevin
will not tell you. Thanks for giving me the privilege to proudly defend the
Catholic Church.
Kind Regards, GL

India's Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, recently bemoaned on our TV that, such a
fallacious view of your kind, simply wasn't true, especially in relation to
millions of downtrodden Dalits. Further, a large high-powered delegation from
India, visited Europe cities, including the London, Houses of Parliament to
highlight the great disadvantage and discrimination as a major issue in India.
This was at the time a few months ago when the UK was celebrating 200 years
since slavery was abolished.
The Indian delegation emphasised, in contrast, the dreadful nature of child
slavery and bondage in India and their serious lack of access to education.
Have you never heard of the plight of the Dalits at the hands of ruthless
Brahmins who even kill them very readily and get away with it? Where have you
been Gilbert?
