Aloha, Sad story indeed. Situation better in France, where small bookshops got state aid and were deemed an 'essential service', so no closure during lockdown. In Italy like in France, many small bookshops that had survived before Covid have diversified into 'social hubs' (with a cafe, organising lectures etc.) and are generally doing OK. Ciao Ciao, p+7D!
