Why the past tense? Because McAfee is no longer in the land of the living does not mean that the company does not exist. I have been using McAfee Antivirus for the past six years or so. I have found their after sales service excellent.
There was a time when my computer was hit by a ransomware attack. The demand for ransom was in bitcoins and every file of mine was corrupted. So I simply decided to delete all my files. I wanted to check if my computer was clean thereafter. One message on their messaging app got me a call from the USA to sort my problem out. Another time, when it was time to renew my subscription, I didn't do it as the price was very high so I simply purchased a new subscription. I had difficulties installing it so I used the McAfee website help centre. The response was almost immediate. Prior to that, I was using Kaspersky which was not very responsive to any help. When I bought Kaspersky from an online retailer, it would not install because the serial no was not being accepted. It took me days to sort it out and that too, Kaspersy with great condescension told me they were doing me a favour! Viva. Tony de Sa Conquer yourself rather than the world Rene Descartes
