This is certainly where the music began to be amplified using converted PA (public address) systems and incorporated with then emerging technology like cassette tapes and inline soundwave distortion circuits. Some people note the rhythms have connections to Tribal Beats in India and tantric ideas and practices, which are based on Indian Buddhist Tantras. The music they suggest is connected to Sādhanā practices of meditation and the chanting of mantra. The sound is inspirational and encourages physical activity and participation The music does not seem to be at all connected to the Western European classical forms, but it did take root and profilare largely in the Dance Halls and Night Clubs of Northern Europe and the United Kingdom. The music returned to the shores of Goa where it became the core program of Electron Music Festivals and Dance Raves.
