Dear Fred In Message: 5 Dated Mon, 26 Jul 2021 07:09:08 +0530 you mention that a Goan from Bangladesh was a Member of Parliament in POLSKA, Poland in ENglish ....I suspect that his wife was a Polish Chemist Costa had a Goanish appearance ....Dont ask me what that is ..
Why was I intrigued ...I was in Morogoro when one day in 1944. I saw the deep maroon Railway buses pass by our house ...the railway had been washed away and so the authorities did not want vehicles to use the bridge\ The buses were taking more than 100 Polish Refugees escaping Hitler or Stalin .....they were being taken to Iringa and other to Arusha . Quite a few died in both the camps. One fellow from Mauritius called Shaurimoto got married to a Polish Women...Poland ofcourse was <<<Liberated by USSR>>>> so it was part of the Eastern Block...The Poles remained some farmed and even began to produce Polanyi sausages.....sold in DSM The Polish Embassy in DSM is close to where a number of Goans live, If I remember rightly the Graves of those who died in Tanzania are in a Cemetery in each of the two centres . I was wondering what would Josef CONRAD think about what happened in Tanganyika ....His >>> Heart of Darkness >>>> was about the cruelty and Pillage of the Congo ...I read it 50 years ago ...Time to revisit it again Grandolfo In Troubled Makongo Juu
