Gosh you really frightened me for a few moments ...I was thinking of a poor
decrepit fellow who needed AA to assist.  You George have a sense of humour you
were referring to St Joseph Vaz .....

Yes he should be the Patron Saint of hFirst Responders.  Its critical ...First
Responders can be health workers of all status, policemen and religious people

I am in full support ....I admire St.Joseph Vaz, because of my professional
interest in famines, disease .....I am surprised that at one time when I was at
St Joseph Vaz birthplace, a young Goan couple mistook me for a Priest (because
of my white beard)  and  came for my blessing ....I did ....but I wonder what I
would have done if they decided that I should hear their confession.

God Bless

Help a fellow Goan, Saint Joseph Vaz, become the "Patron Saint of First
Responders" during this pandemic and Covid crisis. If you already signed the
petition, thank you. If you have not, only 15 seconds of your time can help a
fellow Goan. Please sign the petition to Pope Francis at this link
https://josephnaikvaz.org/  (the petition is half-way down the page).

Your signature to our Petition - and your help in collecting signatures today
by forwarding to others and posting on social media - can make the difference
as to whether or not Saint Vaz is made Patron Saint. Saint Vaz risked his life
for others, all we are asking now is for a signature.

We have petitioned Pope Francis, asking that St. Joseph Vaz be made "Patron
Saint of First Responders" because of his care of the abandoned victims of the
smallpox epidemic in seventeenth century.

As you may know, the Joseph Naik Vaz Institute has sent letters and Petitions
to the Popes and the Sacred Congregation for the Causes of the Saints since
1978, asking for action on the Cause of first Venerable Fr. Joseph Vaz, then
Blessed Joseph Vaz.  Finally, those of us who signed those letters and
Petitions lived to see him become Saint Joseph Vaz because of our combined
support of those signature drives.

The Postulator for his Canonization, Rev. Thomas Klosterkamp O.M.I, told us
that one of the factors that led to the decision by H.H. Pope Francis and the
Sacred Causes of the Saints to canonize St. Joseph Vaz was the Petition and
signatures from around the world that we collected in 2014 for his
canonization.  He recorded our work in the historical document the "Positio
Historica" that he submitted for the Canonization.

Please sign the petition to Pope Francis at this link
https://josephnaikvaz.org/ (the petition is half-way down the page)
Sincerely,

Joseph Naik Vaz Institute
