Your Message-ID: <[email protected]> was of great interest to me Professionally. as a Goan, a couple of University friends are currently involved in assisting the Government for the first Digital Census of Tanzania. Professionally, I found myself introducing ideas which I learnt during my field work in California and modifying it for local conditions. My colleague from East Anglia and myself trained University Colleagues Staff in the Geography Department and BRALUP then trained all the teachers who in turn would train thousands of census enumerators etc in all the 15 Regions of Tanzania . Producing Census statistics is one thing...interpreting it is something so different ...so BRALUP / IRA went ahead and fellows wrote about Rate of Growth, Urbanization etc etc ...Soon we were training Demographers with staff from Egypt, USA, UK India and within a decade had a core of Tanzanian Professors, who were trained mostly in the US...Thanks to the Rockefeller Foundations In the 1970's computers came in ..there was a hurdle .....some Minister objected to the use of Computers.....persuading officials require information ..here is where a Goan friend gave me some interesting information to make my task easier. That aside most interesting were the points you highlighted. You highlighted very interesting observations in the latest once a decade US population survey, some of which we knew but some we didn?t. 1. The whites are now less than half the population. 2. They are still the single prevailing race but not in California, the most dense US State. 3. The Asians and Latinos are growing 4 times faster than the national average. 4. The mixed identity population is now more than a tenth of the total people. 5. Blacks are outnumbered as the single biggest minority race. 6. The country has a very low young population. >From the Associated Press By comparison, the non-Hispanic growth rate over the decade was 4.3%. The Hispanic share of the U.S. population grew to 18.7% of the U.S. population, up from 16.3% in 2010. The 2020 Census confirmed what we have known for years ? the future of the country is Latino,? said Arturo Vargas, CEO of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials Educational Fund. Most interesting was the fact that First The Whites were no longer a majority Second, that the Hsipanic Population and the Black s dominate Thirdly that California and not New York has the highest PD. This means that one day SPANLISH may be the language of USA India and China Africa will be be "pure" ...if in Tanzania alone we have 157 tribal communities where does the notion of Purity come in I will have to consult my uncle in Mars whether I shoulld get involved in Martial Arts....My bones creak !!!!
