I still remain puzzled ...why the colour of Indian and Flags have the saffron colour. I am not colour blind ....but there is a huge difference between Yellow and Saffron ...Saffron ...that valuable medicinal and spice root (see the verdict in the US Court when one multnation tried to patent the plant) So Saffron is a very distinct colour and if the BJP part also uses it ...no objections.
But apart from flags, countries have symbols. Tanzania has the TWIGA or in English Giraffe. I like it but was surprised that it was not the British in Tanganyika who adopted it. I have pictorial documentary evidence that in 1414 a certain fellow from this part of the world gifted the Chinese Emperor with an this Majestic and Gentle creature ....Even more puzzling was it a Goan who provided the evidence .....check the 2nd Edition of Moffet circa 1956. Finally, you do not mention the Symbol of Ireland ....I first realized how serious this matter was when I was in Boston around St. Patricks Day. Yes it is an unofficial symbol of Ireland. As most of you all know St Patrick used the shamrock's three leaves to explain the Holy Trinity to the PAGANS. Oh yes it was this ENGLISH priest who Christianized Ireland. Mind you Shamrock is also a symbol of luck, and vaguely I remember a few other things. Strange that a little boy on a North African shore should bring this great philosopher down to earth ......There was no point in him even yo discpher the Trinity ..... So is there a local flag for Goa ...... Grandolfo In cloudy Makongo Juu
