<Credited to be one of the first LCCs to enter the Asian market, Air Asia has finally announced its plans to fly long haul. Speaking at the CAPA Low Cost Symposium, CEO of Air Asia, Tony Fernandes said, "Air Asia is planning to fly long haul to India, China, the Middle East and eventually to Europe. This will open up a whole new market facilitating travel." ...Air Asia plans to start operations to India by 2008, with Amritsar being on the top of the list. More cities like Kolkata, Kochi and Bangalore will eventually follow.
