How dare mega crooks stand for elections again and again, and political parties - local and national - welcome them? The only explanation is this: Goan voters, no matter what their religious beliefs, are on the same page: corruption which is widely acceptable in our society is no problem for anyone and it has emboldened all political parties - from inside and outside the state. Ok. Let the party begin! I was going to vote for the TMC party but no longer! This political party has welcomed the iconic crook Luzinho Falero, a former chief minister of Goa. The late CM Manohar Parrikar had complete contempt for him; he spoke more than once about Luzinho’s dubious meteoritic rise from rags to riches! What is Mr Falero’s a former loyal Congressman’s hidden agenda? A great supporter of Sonia Gandhi in the past he is now the strongest critic of the Congress Party today. What happened? Is it because he could not become the Chief Minister of Goa? Is his song and dance only because he wants to become CM of Goa and he sees TMC as a road map to achieve his ambition? His motive will become apparent sooner than later. The TV news informs us Rahul Gandhi will be in Goa on Saturday, and the local Congress leaders which have asked for an alliance with the NCP and The Goa Forward Party will get an affirmative or negative answer from him then. The Congress Party and NCP are natural allies. Not so in the case of the Goa Forward Party. For two years Mr Vijay Sardesai doggedly fought the BJP calling them corrupt and communal but when they emerged as the winner in the elections he gave them his support. Loyal Congress Party workers need to draw Rahul Gandhi’s attention to MLA Vijay Sardesai’s report card. AAP the political party led by CM Kejriwal claims to be a political party of principles and integrity. Really? Daynand Narverkar a former Speaker of the Goa Assembly has been involved in a rape case and a cricket ticket scandal, among others. Yet he is now the blue-eyed boy of AAP. What’s going on? Digamber Kamat a former CM of Goa is still with the Congress Party even though he is the king of the mining scam. Why? Can the Congress Party investigate into the mining scam with him in it? He is waiting and watching, and watching and waiting - will this Goan Chanakya end up as they next CM of the BJP? Goa is a big black hole for untaxed money and all political parties want to get their fingers in the pie even though it is a hot hole and some fingers might get burnt. With a lot of snakes from Goa and outside the state, the Goan voter has to choose his favorite snake. Will he choose a local known snake or an out of state snake? The choice is his or hers.
