The Joker In Goan Society and Other Stories The political situation in Goa is resembling the joker in the pack with the Goan soul slowly becoming more and more visible to the human eye.
As election day approaches we Goans enter a fluid and confusing state of mind only to reveal the Goan soul in his or her true color and glory. Don’t worry, it is time for the Christmas Sale Party and the Goan is up for grabs! Our politicians are giving their heart and soul to the highest bidder as Christmas is near and it is a time of celebration. Don’t be a wet blanket as now is the time to make hay while the sun shines. In February the sun will start to set and by then everyone will be satisfied with the results. The voters will have had their fulfillment and the politicians theirs, too. Get ready for real life after the election. A win-win situation. As my friend said to me today: Goa is a disaster! I disagree. Death is always round the corner, and whichever way we turn - it is there - always waiting for us patiently. Goans are afraid of nothing except death. Only a few days prior to going to the other shore do we Goans get a chance to see our naked soul in black and white on our faces a few in technicolor with peaceful music. Sometimes it is too late, and is a horror show. But we are Goans and only the sound of death knocking on the door can send us a message which we can understand directly. Otherwise fiction and stories are good enough. Thank you death for being kind, and always there! No fake news this!
