With the approaching state elections our politicians are coming under the magnifying lens and party ideology under the microscope. In the heat of the moment the Goan voter has all but been overlooked.
We need to take a hard and close look at the Goan voter as the voters will decide our future government. This is a fact and the reality. And so, what are we looking at? I invite readers to make their own comments so we can get to know more about this strange phenomenon known as the Goan voter! Here are my two bits: the other day talking about politics I said to a woman voter that we need to give new faces a chance and her reply was that they are worse than the old politicians. I was dumbstruck. I was under the impression new faces have not been tried and tested as yet and have a blank scoreboard unlike the oldies who are burdened with excess baggage. I spoke to a man voter who was determined to vote for the Congress Party and would listen to nothing and no one. His argument was simple: the Congress Party is fully corrupt from top to bottom and so we can get much more from this party than any other. We have the best chance of sharing in the corruption.
