On a more serious note ....In this day and age when honour killing takes place ....when entire Governments think they have been given the right to think of women as second class citizens......we cannot afford to sit back and pretend it is not our business. A few hours ago at our Rotary Club Meeting and Tanzania individual who was in Tunisia attending a meeting reminded me that it became my responsibility to see that NGO's in Zambia, Tanzania and Uganda were supported through UNDP....In Tanzania the head of UNDP an Ethiopian informed his Secretary (A Goan) that only Governments were responsible for Development. I was informed through my links in that the UN wanted me to go to New York. I told them the blunt truth ...<<A former Tanzanian Prime Minister had employed a Goan called <<< Shorty >>>> to handle all the finances of an NGO, Lady Chesham ??? also helped people in the Mountain Areas of Lushoto. Yes ...In the New York Office of UNDP...I was given my fee even before I started the Tanzanian work.
