Even though the economy is crushing the poor man under his own feet some people have a good word for the Prime Minister but I have yet to hear anyone say anything positive about the global investor Adani. Why?
With the budget out of the bag and the media all praise for it some people are laughing or is it crying themselves blue because it claims to be a budget for investment. We ordinary people are facing untold suffering in the country and the majority don’t even have to tighten their belts as they have lost a lot of weight and so it appears to be a cruel joke on the part of our government. When Indians cannot make ends meet how is it possible to invest? Where will the investment money come from? If this annual budget is for investors it is only for the super rich - the Adanis of India. This tiny club today is India; all others are Indians - an endangered species. Goans in particular are angry as coal dust is going far beyond throwing dust into peoples eyes - a speciality - but expect non-stop dust for the next 30 years. Goa by then will be known as not Golden Goa but Coal Goa with tourism an invisible industry covered with thick layers of dust. Unfortunately the tourism industry will be nowhere to be seen because Adani has not invested in the hotel and tourism industry in Goa. He is a global investor and Goa and India represent no more than a coal corridor for him. After Adani has become the richest man in the world India will seriously start to clean the pollution caused by coal, and no one but Adani will do it making him even richer! With this annual budget out people in Goa say PM Modi is more popular than Adani! And, people say much more than the few comments I have included in this article.
