Being a grandson from Quitula in Aldona, it is great news that our colleague the very humble Adv. Carlos Ferreira is contesting from my ancestral village.
The Indian National Congress needs to be applauded for having selected a man with credibility, high dignity and utmost integrity as the candidate for Aldona. Adv. Carlos has been a distinguished personality and an advocate of the highest repute. Aldona now has the option to have a very dignified person as their MLA. My fellow Aldonkars would have that rare privilege to elect as their MLA, a thorough gentleman who had been Goa’s youngest ever Advocate General. I am sure that my fellow Aldonkars will unitedly all support and vote for Adv. Carlos Ferreira, who beyond any stretch of imagination is the most competent and truthful MLA that they could elect. He would undoubtedly be a beacon of hope and a breath of fresh air on the much-tainted landscape of politics heaving with the stench of corruption and incompetence. With his legal expertise, Adv. Carlos Ferreira would go a long way towards the restoration of Law and Order in Goa which has sadly today been virtually reduced to a Banana Republic. Adv. Carlos’s honesty, sincerity and commitment for his Aldona Constituency and Goa at large is something that Goa desperately requires. The need of the day is not hot mixing of roads or a sudden outpouring of cash or other goodies two weeks before an election. Instead, every Goan is crying out for Good Governance with accountability and transparency, an end to state sponsored scams and U-Turns and for a better and brighter future for all especially our youth through the creation of sustainable jobs that are made available on a fair and equitable basis on merit and not sold to the highest bidder. We need persons who once elected remain committed to the betterment of the constituency, the wellbeing of its constituents and our beautiful state of Goa. This can only be achieved by upright individuals like Adv. Carlos who will treat his calling to serve as a vocation and duty, NOT as an investment for personal development. A better future is our right so let us grab the opportunity with both hands and vote wisely on 14th February for Adv Carlos Ferreira in Aldona and other candidates of the Congress – Goa Forward alliance throughout Goa.
