I have just now at our Ribandar Polling booth, without any hesitation confidently voted for the young and dynamic Elvis Gomes of the Indian National Congress as my choice to be our next MLA of Panaji.
We elect an MLA to go to the Secretariat and the Legislative Assembly, to highlight and resolve issues concerning our Constituency. But ironically we ended up earlier erroneously choosing an 8th Std dropout Babush Monserrate who has rarely ever uttered a word in the Assembly and was in fact seen more frequently in Courts facing the serious criminal cases of grave offences committed by him. I felt it was time to elect a clean and honest MLA. An educated one.
