Now really Selma. They are very different institutions are they NOT. - The Church is at the top of the pyramid in this Man to God relationship. - The UN is a false shop front for a group of rapacious power brokers getting their hands on other peoples resources at any cost and at any length. - The Royal Family is an ingenious ploy to shift blame to dirty politics and to be a rallying point for the people. Everything that is good can be attributed to the monarchy and anything bad to nasty politics. Try asking the masses the distinction between the two. Let me digress a bit but I do so to provide examples. These institutions exist for a measured purpose. All three have very different agendas yet what is interesting is that, it is all about the concentration of power and the language of power in few hands. They are unlikely to give up that power easily or of their own. My neighbour an English working class man had it in for the politicians as liars and nasties who kept the working classes down. When war was declared against Agentina over the Falklands, this very man was Hey Lets Go Get These ARGI BARGIES. The established media raised the rallying cry for Queen and country to defend 2000 'white' British on some remote island near the south pole. When 2000 'black' British citizens were forcibly removed from Chegos island in the Indian ocean by the British Government and put in the slums of Mauritius to make way for an American airbase, journalist and defence correspondents were taken to the Chegos islands but not one of them asked where the islanders had gone. At least not in print. :))). The islanders have now won their battle in court with the judgement that the Government's behaviour was "outrageous, repugnant and illegal" ie basically throwing British citizens out of Britain. Guess what? These poor islanders are not back yet. The government immediately invoked the ROYAL PEROGGATIVE to prevent these British citizens returning back to their island. Now here is a Labour government for you. And people still think that the Labour government is for the working classes at least. Mercifully, the courts have overturned that invocation too. Thank you for bearing this long with me. I hope you at least found it interesting because politics is a language of power and it will use anything at hand. The point of a pyramid structure is to concentrate power into fewer and fewer hands and shift blame and distract people. The masses only understand slogans. Propaganda is about repetition till it becomes the official truth. What are the chances of a new role for the Royal Family. Zero I should imagine. It is too convenient for just a few of the reasons I mentioned above. What would happen to the Lords, Ladies, Knights, Barrons and hangers on if the Royal Family was watered down or even abolished eh? Would you believe that the dizzy heights of Royalty is something for us mealymouthed goans abroad to aspire to in this meritorious pathway up the class structure, aristocracy and Royalty to boot. LOL. Religion and the Church is my pet waste of time topic. What caught my attention was Selma's saying that the church "declare biblical creationism a myth," + 'stay off other moral issues' . Now there is a thing for you to think about, asking the Church to Engineer its own demise. LOL Selma . Come on "Pigs will fly". The chances of that is Zero too. Take off the myth and the whole raison d'etre of the Church falls apart. You cannot do that to people. Too many still need something to believe in. You cannot just kick away that crutch. Blair, Bush all go to the Vatican. What do they talk about when they are there about buying indulgences? It is to impress the people that the Church and Politics are together on this. Talk about us goans as hypocrites, Blair and Bush take the cake. War Criminals even making envoys for peace can you believe. I recall Kevin Saldanha say that he only invokes religion when it is relevant. Accordingly, I will Thank God for the readers sake that I don't speculate on the chances of the UN changing its role of itself. It wont happen unless nations get together and make it happen. Cheers
