The High Court ruling of the 10 MLAs who neither jumped nor flew from the Congress Party to the BJP camp has the Goan voter in a state of surprise and confusion, a lot of them not having slept for 48 hours.
That the 10 MLAs walked and crossed over is noteworthy. They had the majority and so it is legal. The people who have not slept for 48 hours are discussing if legal means moral? The voters who were stabbed in their backs even though blood was not to be seen say they voted for a different set of values which are as different as day and night. They cannot understand how the Congress MLAs could do what they did to them. Late news informs us the judgement will be challenged in the Supreme Court. Breaking news informs us the Supreme Court has reversed judgements of the High Court in the past and the voters need not commit suicide. With the Russian invasion of the Ukraine Goan problems appear to be no bigger than bolinas. The Roman Catholic Church which takes great pride in the high moral standards of their community don’t know where to hide as the 10 MLAs are Roman Catholics. Do not feel ashamed as it is natural I say. The Covid virus attacks the Roman Catholics and not the Hindus and Muslims and people from other communities, and unfortunately, in this case holy water will not dissolve the sin as it does in the Original. The virus after all has now survived for more than 2000 years. Will the Roman Catholic MLAs do a repeat performance if they win on March 10 ? I have no idea! All I can think of is the BJP will go shopping and like Vijay Malliya end up buying the entire mall. The only question of importance on their minds will be: how much do you want? After paying the MLAs the money the BJP will retire for the night and have a good sleep snoring louder than the SW Railway trains while the Roman Catholics will get ready to apply for their Portuguese passports? I hope the invasion of Ukraine by the Russians led by the cave man Putin will not spoil their plans and partying as everything is inter-connected in this planet and beyond.
