I’ve always regretted losing my Konkani and my Portuguese obtained in Goa during my schooldays there; sometimes in my early morning consciousness I regret the circumstances that led to my ignorance. And now after fifty years in Canada I regret having lost much of my Kiswahili much of which I learned in the years I was a roving geologist in Tanzania.
