Now Secretaries of the Indian Govt have warned that some states distributing freebies are set to follow Sri Lanka. Wake up time for the ‘Mitron’ and his cohorts to stop bank frauds and red ink flowing in govt undertakings and withdraw all those hair-brained sops randomly given out to serve as some social security net. If you see the salary and pension payment figures of government employees, along with defence expenditure, you will wonder how things are still afloat. For all the work they do, in the real work India only needs one third of the work force that exists in government.
