Canadian achievements are always low profile and very understated. No blowing 
trumpets, no screaming ads, no flying flags and if you live in Canada, you will 
probably have heard little of them.

I discovered this for myself when traveling to other countries. People in those 
places will rave about some piece of highly specialized technology or equipment 
that has been imported from Canada and yet when I hear of the companies that 
make them, mostly in Markham, Ontario or in the Ottawa region, their names 
don’t strike a bell.

In that spirit, about these 5 restaurants that are listed among the best in the 
world, the average Torontonian will probably have not heard of them, their 
existence being common knowledge only to a select few gourmets, adventurers and 
folks with spare cash to burn.

Truly, Cordon Bleu, Michelin star territory.
