We need to appreciate Frederick’s various video recordings and podcasts of
everyday life in contemporary Goa.

To new viewers, his subjects and the people whom he interviews appear mundane,
plain and parochial but that in essence is the spirit of Goa life. When viewed
often enough, it can be a beautiful experience.

That’s not to say he does not tackle out of the ordinary. Some of his subjects
and people are above the normal cut human beings doing extraordinary things
away from the light, almost apologetically. That also in essence is the Goan
way. Not only within the meaning of a traditional Goan but also encompassing
other Indians who have become Goans by virtue of residence and choice and way
of life.

So keep on doing what you do Frederick. It takes time, effort and expense and I
appreciate it no matter the minor criticisms I am always putting in the
comments section not with a view to faulting you but only to make you shine a
little more.

Roland.
