I take umbrage to “gays are born with faulty sex traits like lameness, 
blindness and cleft lips”.

That is:
Homophobia, albeit possibly unintentional.
Faulty according to whom?
Does it mean individuals without those traits are perfect or faultless? 
Smacks of religious brainwashing.
