It will be interesting to see how Modi and his real power organization the RSS handle the three storms that are not just brewing but already blowing across the nation simultaneously.
1. Communal unrest. This is of Modi’s making. The brew was heated by his “fringe” supporters without any correction and has now percolated into a full blown country wide protest. 2. Inflation & The Economy This of course is not Modi’s fault but his economic mis-management has already been demonstrated at various times in the recent past (see video). Price increases in a country where most people live hand to mouth and a normally buoyant economy now nearly on oxygen brings on big dark clouds. 3. Covid Fourth Wave The pandemic is again resurgent in India and while again not Modi’s fault, the lack of preparation is definitely his. India’s problem has always been a lack of will to learn from catastrophic events. While such events strike everywhere, most economically strong democratic nations take corrective action to mitigate them in the future. India never bothers to learn. They just go from one disaster to another. Perhaps it’s a disregard for human life and a large expendable population that is at the bottom of this.
