Decades ago our country started to slide when we Indians changed our loyalties and principles for a new philosophy - what’s in it for me? Our dead ancestors and dead freedom fighters have died for what? Dancing MLAs or jumping frogs as the popular label goes is no deeper than wink wink. The rot in our democracy is extensive today and a mirror of Indian society - of us. We stand for elections from a particular political party and when we win we change our party or support a party we criticized strongly when offered tasty monetary pedas or bebinca. We cannot say no and sell everything and ourselves happily. Where is the Indian voter in this scenario? Bought and sold at a discount or a few thousand rupees. They do not dare open their mouths for they know what they have done and accept their karma. How do we fix this mess?
