No, it is not cricket I am talking about - no, it is the economy! While India is rushing to give a hand to Sri Lankans who are angry with their president and have occupied the corridors of power here is a Buddhist nation who rejected the caste system a long time ago saying - enough is enough!
India’s economy is not doing well on almost each and every front - yet we manage! Are we Indians more spiritually advanced than our neighbor Sri Lanka? I am not an economist micro or macro but i have eyes - even though they have weakened over the years making it difficult to read the fine print. I think we manage the economy the same way as the government. When the government needs money they simply raise the price of this and that - problem solved! If a vegetable seller was earning 30% profit and with Covid visiting - what to do? He simply raises the costs by 30%! Now this principle is applicable to a lot of stores coffee shops included. No need to decrease the margin of profit everyone thinks when all we have to do is raise the price. Only one dark lining on the silver cloud. The consumer whom we do not trust may decide to pay 30% more for his vegetables but not for his coffee. While Covid might be good business for the coffin makers it has also been good news for some other businesses. Are you in good company?
