Many Goanet readers may have heard of the horrific accident on early Thursday morning that resulted in the deaths of four occupants in a speeding SUV at the site of the Cortalim-Agaçaim Zuari Bridge that plunged 100 feet into the river after losing control and smashing through the guard rail.
This made all-Goa news but if you hadn’t heard of it, just google the incident which received wide coverage All four were residents of Loutulim and it was reported that having just celebrated the birthday of one of the 3 males, had got into the car at that unearthly hour probably to continue the celebration in Panjim since restaurants in the area were closed due to the local panchayat election period regulations. The only female occupant of the vehicle was our late Goanetter from Sweden Alfred Tavares’ niece - his sister Libby’s daughter. Besides her other family, she leaves behind her father José Cruz a well known PWD contractor from the village. Priscilla was active in politics and a member of the Goa Congress (a Block President).
