An excellent 2-page Review of Urmilla Thakore’s book about her Scottish mother - by Neera Kapur-Dromsom has appeared in the latest issue of Old Africa magazine. Urmilla, or Milla as she was popularly known is the widow of Neves Pereira of Mombasa. The book talks a lot about race relations in colonial Kenya 🇰🇪 and how her Indian father who had married a Scottish lady in the heady days of segregation was viewed by the prejudiced Whites in Kenya.
