Isaiah 44:9-20speaks about the absurdity; of idol worship. He says; that the iron smith fashions an image and works it on coal shaping it with hammers and forging it with his strong arm, or the carpenter makes a human form out of the tree he cuts. While he uses some part of the tree to cook his food, the other he uses to make statues. None of them comprehend for their eyes are shut .The statue he makes it into god which you worship it .No one ever gives a thought that while one half of the tree is used to bake bread,or food should we fall down before a block of wood ? Again St.Paul writes in his letter to the Romans chapter one verse 18 onwards-he speaks about people not honouring God as God though they knew Him so they became futile in their thinking and their senseless minds were darkened. Claiming to be wise they became fools and they exchanged the glory of the imortal God for images resembling a mortal human being or birds or four footed animals or reptiles. So God gave them up in lust of their heart to impurity to the degrading of their bodies among themselves because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the creator who is blessed for ever Amen. Those of us who sincerely want to contemplate on what I wrote taken from Isaiah and letters of Paul to the Romans should draw inspiration from God directly and ask God to explain this to you rather than stick to the truth about the second part as truth. What is the second part? We give more importance to statues which fill our churches ,chapels and homes. While praying our eyes are focused on these lifeless statues made from trees and metals rather than focusing our mind to the living God who remains unseen to us due to high density of spiritual power and brightness of the spirit. We cannot represent God in the form of statues. Not only that no creations of God can be substitued for God.We cannot glorify any creations of God and glorify them. All glory and Honour should go to God alone.God is omnipotent. He has no begining, no end. No father no mother.God is God.We cannot see God with our earthly eyes but will see Him in His glory when we transform ourselves into spirit and become like God's image. What a happiness we will derive to see our creator. But since God wanted to become man he came in the form of human being and we had Jesus. To do this he needed a woman and Mary was chosen. But Jesus never said that he was God.He always called himself son of man.He might have said that he and Father are one. That Father lives in him and he in the Father, but when we see Jesus we see a man. What Jesus did on earth was not by his own power but from the power given by his Father.Means we also can derive power from God if God the Father wants it.If Jesus performed miracles he did with the power of His Father. Before each of the miracle he looked up to his father and prayed. He asked his father to help him to perform the miracle. Before each operation He prayed. Before dying on the cross he knelt down and prayed. Like any ordinary human being he got frightened but with prayer he derived strength to go on the cross. We too have so many crosses to die on.We get frustrated and curse ourselves, drown ourselves with drinks or drugs and say we are the miserable creations of God instead of kneeling down and asking God to either remove the cross from you or to give you strength to climb the cross and get nailed to it.We forget the Father and try to embrace the cross and find it so heavy and we fall under the weight of the cross still we will never get up and go on our knees and pray to the Father and say "Father let your will be done.If you will keep this cross away from me but if not let the cross be made lighter than what it is.Allow me to drink from the cup which you are giving me.We find ourselves in a dark tunnel and we cannot see our way.But our faith makes us walk into the dark for we know there will be light at the end of a long tunnel and when we keep walking and walking we see a faint light far away. There is a ray of hope for us. we still keep walking and the end of the tunnel is seen clearly now and we see someone's hands waiting to hold us. Really when we reach the end of the tunnel we are tired but the hands hold on to us and we hear someone calling us with the words.D on't you know that I am there ? and when we look at the one who is talking to us we realize that it is Jesus who has been anxiously waiting for us to come.
