Hei Gabe, Had I been brilliant I would not be talking to you. Instead, I would have you for dinner with "kasti" for afters. Hahahaha. Being a stickler for correctness, correct my konkani spelling if you like. But joking aside fortunately for you, you are a good source of information. So I will stick around with you :).
If you did read some of my previous postings and also read between the lines you then you would understand where I stand with respect to goans at home and abroad. The fact is that there are goans at home and goans abroad just like the fact some are Christians and some Hindu and some are from minority groups even non believers. Your posting gave me a chance to read what Shatosh had to say. I had missed it before. I found what he had to say was spot on and in fact added some refences to exactly who Bhandare really is by origin and mindset. He is a goan and an ardent RSS party supporter. Other things that Santosh said went over my head about religious about 'sang parvikar' equivalence. In my earlier postings and I don't know if you read them all, it is very easy to miss peoples views on goanet for many reasons. However, I have said that we goans by that I mean you, I, our fathers and our forefathers Hindus, Christians whatever, missed the opportunity to have a Goa for the Goans when the Portuguese bolted leaving us up Mandovi creek without a paddle. The next piece of posting I put out was that we have to reconcile ourselves with the situation we find ourselves in and make the best of it. India is on the ascendancy of a surper power creating opportunities for goans at home. We have managed to get Goa recognised as an independent State. But we are not as free as we would have been if we been granted independence by the Portuguese. We cannot under current conditions close our borders to people from outside of Goa. We cannot restrict parties out of Goa influencing the goans in Goa. The jocking for position outside of Goa also affects Goa no doubt. Goans need to become more aware of what parties stand for and what if any traitors and agent provocateur we have in our midst. It is a concern for all goans. The worst are the traitors and provocateurs. The question of which side of the fence you find yourself in matters. The person who tried to kill Hitler is now honoured. Had Germany won he would have been labelled a traitor. No country can tolerate a traitor but home grown idiots yes. So if Bhandare was a non goan abroad and a supporter of the RSS bent on inciting trouble in Goa then that would be considered unacceptable to many I feel. But he is a goan however misguided you may think. His affiliation with a party from outside of Goa is no concern of mine. But we need to put him on the mat and nail him there if we expose him for acting as an agent of a party that is actively engaged in causing unrest. What we cannot do is corner him against a wall with abuse where his basic instincts will be to retaliate instead of show his "kasti" and colour. In getting him to retaliate as Santosh explained it is natural for him to create distractions thus losing for us the opportunity of getting to the issues of his party and where he stands on them.. People have very little tolerance for agents and traitors but it has to be established first in a sensible way that our home grown Bhandare is one if indeed he is at all.. As for the RSS party re Wikipedia I see nothing wrong with the ideology which in a nutshell is Live and Let Live which is the Hindu philosophy of life. However, I have said that I view some of their Policy Statements with concern. Getting into bed with an enemy and war criminals may be realpolitik's but something that most of us should be concerned about and be aware of. Cheers
