The land acquisition was done in 1988 .Many residents were dislodge and uprooted .Nothing was done so far..The acquisition at Rs 13 m2 was and 800 for concrete structurec was a pittance.Time and again authorities mislead residents on persistent inquiry that no plans are finalised It was a deliberate lie to keep it a secret. The Residents have been fighting a loosing battle for a feasible bypass that is not only cost effective but has scope for future expansion without affecting any resident. The argument that it is too late is bulllshit as land beyond Uskinim band is still to take off.and bypass through fallow Communidade fields. Even recently the residents were assured of no further acquisition. The residents are disillusioned as some major illegal structures are being protected by diversions due to influence at highest level The cost of proposed flyover is costly as two major junctions on this stretch pose a problem The owners last time were sent individual notices to respond.Besides protest are to be lodged at Panjim making it difficult to register grievances Many are still not even aware of this notice Hence it is a must that every individual owner be provided a notice It is pushing the final notice on this stretch is deliberate to fast pace the project.Any reasonable effort of representations is treated with disdain with the statement that it us too late or centre has its way Late Parikar clearly addressed the stake holders that state concerns cannot be overlooked or ignored as land belongs to State. He had taken steps to address the grievances. The question is why Goa needs these expansion at a cost to residents when it is a important corridor for both Maharashtra and Karnataka for their industrial benefit to destroy scarce space for roads and bridges Let wiser counsels prevail
