A Goan is a creation of accidents of history... specifically Portuguese colonialism (and treaties created with rulers of nearby territories who had their own interests at the centre of things more than anything else). We should not take this too seriously.
The only solution is to be inclusivist. Goa (even if not the land-mass now) is undergoing constant change (as were its boundaries for hundreds of years during Portugese rule). Can we be open enough to accept all those who have something positive to contribute, and yet not do it in a way that allows so many "saviours of Goa" to continually take us for a ride? Even attempts to equate Konkani with being Goan is problematic. FN On 25/07/07, Eddie Fernandes <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > that is a red herring.
