Selma, I think Kukru ku kuru was orginally sung by Tony Carr, and later Hema
Sardesai sang it for Chris Perry's album. I doubt there is any song by
Alfred Rose by that title.

Incidentaly, a fellow goan in US ...a great fan of Alfred Rose and a close friend of
"Alfritz" (Alfred & Rita) was inquiring with me for the oldies of Alfred
Rose..he did mention to me
about digitalising Alfred Rose oldies specially the ones which were played
on Akashwani. I think he has a collection of 100 old songs of Alfred Rose. Besides, I also
heard many others have
tried to get the rights from Rita to digitalise Alfred's oldies.

Selma replies:
Is this another rumour or are you stating a fact that
women are generally ecstatic to find you flagrante
delicto?

Frederick is a combo of Che Guevera and Don Corleone
(jealous?). You on the other hand are a combo of Lord
Byron and Jacinth Vaz. More of Jacinth and less of
Byron. There are women, all over the world, who
succumb to your Jacinth Vazish charm, I'm sure. Some
of them want to know how to answer the telephone in
Konkanni. A new model of cell phones in Goa, has
Alfred Rose's "Kukru ku kuru" as a ringtone. Was that
your idea? :-)

How
curious that only Selma seems to have heard of this
singular generous act.

Selma replies:
I know a lot of things which no one else knows. I
maybe the only one who knows that Alfred Rose fathered
a love child, who now wants to digitalise his old
songs. See how easy it is to start a rumour on Goanet?
:-)
