Mangoes were NOT brought by the Portuguese from Brazil. Portuguese created grafts for various varieties of Mangoes , hence some of the mangoes have Portuguese names. The Portuguese brought Caju trees to stop soil erosion. They also brought the rubber trees from Brazil. Regards,Pradip Khalap
