Come, come now Mr Pinto, you doth protest too much and
your "higher moral ground" on this one is really rich,
even richer than an black forest cake. My statement,
"see how easy it is too start rumours on Goanet",
quite obviously qualifies the previous statement as
utterly false, and you know that very well.

Cecil replies:
1) I have never claimed a 'higher moral ground'. Far from that. I just feel your dig was unethical and in very bad taste. Try explaining how your version of 'being witty' works to Alfred Rose's family. If you truly didn't mean any mischief then please send out a posting clarifying that what you said was in jest. It will help undo some of the damage you have caused.

Selma:
You on the other hand have accused very well known
people of thieving from Goanet, of plagiarising books,
of not contributing to any Goan cause. In some cases
you later said you were pickled at the time but that
is not an excuse.

Cecil:
I don't know which 'well known' people you refer to.
1) I have never accused anyone of 'thieving from Goanet'. This is another of your lies. 2) I have accused Gilbert Lawrence of plagiarism. His book 'Amchem Goem' is a compilation of articles from various sources that he has not credited or even mentioned. This is blatant theft of intellectual property. 3) I feel Gilbert, and many of his type, contribute nothing to Goa or Goan causes other than hot air. Other than your vague (for obvious reasons) statement that he has donated some huge 'dollar amount' to some Goan project I see no other confirmation of Gilbert's generosity. Your (bombastic) statements are often devoid of facts, as has been proven often, and are constructed to win arguments rather than bring fresh knowledge or insights to the table. I stand by my statement until it is proven otherwise. 4) I do not recall in any of these instances saying I was 'pickled at the time'. This is another of your lies.

Selma:
I'm happy to see you so indignant about an imagined
(even you acknowledge that it was a joke) slight on
Alfred Rose's character, and the immense respect you
have for his widow and progeny. I only wish such
respect had been shown for other fellow Goans which
might have led you to examine how they would feel upon
reading what you write.

Cecil:
I do agree that diplomacy is not one of my strengths. But sometimes one has to call a spade a spade. There are many on this forum whose views I do not agree with. I do not go about exposing their lack of logic or knowledge. It is the few soapboxers who speak from a morally superior pedestal who have to be brought down a few pegs. And of course I like deflating air balloons who who use drama and imagery rather than facts.

Selma:
Just because you disagree with and/or dislike certain
people on this forum, does not give you to right to
launch attacks on their private lives (pickled or
otherwise) and all the glibness you have with your
penmanship won't let you slither out of this one, with
or without your pants round your knees.

Cecil:
1) I repeat, I am very selective in what and who I expose, despite my disagreement with many. I do not know how proving hypocrisy by refuting statements made in public can be construed as an attack on 'their private lives'. This is another one of your lies. 2) I do not post on public forums when I am 'pickled'. This is another one of your lies. Like the thing about Alfred Rose. You will start of a lie and with enough repetition begin to believe it is the truth. 3) Your fascination with the positioning of my pants is proving quite embarrassing. Even though the imagery may cause you much emotional excitement I request you to please restrain yourself - from using such metaphors. I can reply with similar, and much more laughter evoking and figurative, language but it would not be fair to you. My spouse is subscribed to GoaNet. Is yours? The truth now, for a change.

Cheers!
