Here are some brave geologists who recently explored Ol Donyo Lengai, in that hot dry desert in Northern Tanzania. It’s quite incredible. It’s south of Lske Natron; I visited it in 1965, an arduous trek those days, but now fairly easy tourist site. There is a cam on it most days.
