The idea was to stop the tide of students migrating to cities.In olden days students seeking High School Education for boys had to seek boarding facility mostly at Margao , Sanvordem .The girls had similar facility at Fatima and Presentation.Not many parents could afford this luxury.Duler Mapusa had limited facility up to std eight and it was highly economical but too far .I was studying there with many others from our Village.Then a window of hope was opened by Prof C.A Gomes opening New Educational School after passing SSC.It was a welcome opportunity for many to get through SSC very economically and conveniently.After liberation the fortunes of rechristened St Bosco's School were on the wane.St Mary' s Convent , Assumpta Convent, Mount Mary' s HS appeared on the scene. Those rich and prominent did not wish their wards to mingle with local residents and get polluted with common folks and thus maintain identity..St Mary's alone made a distinctive mark by securing as many as 10 ranks at GBSHSE .The target students for it were from Assolna, Velim, Panzorconnim, and villages adjacent to the NH 17.Mount Mary's lost in competition and was constantly threatened with retrenchment due to falling strength.It is at this junction Villagers of Chinchinim Organisation was born in 1974.All the three schools were presented with a cash prize of Rs 50. each for the First student.Two interschool competitions for 3 schools with cash prizes were also proposed.At that point 8 gms of gold was around that, but ever increasing value forced us not to present a gold Medal. The proceeds were from sale of annual raffle at Christmas , supported by sarcastically nicknamed SUNSET COMMRADES.Some prizes were donated by welwishers.It was Dataram Bandodkars donations of First Prize that led to establishing of a fund.As comrades dispersed due to employment , marriage the sale of raffle coupons became tough.It continued for 10 years with accumulated capital of Rs 1500.. over 10 years.The First 3 other awards were donated by me and Fidelis for the teacher, Science and Social Science subjects we taught . The trend caught up slowly with personal persuation and consistent efforts.In 2006 PCTrust was registered. Donations were appealed and continued to this date. The Trust has many awards for First, second ,third , fourth rankers from 3 schools. Besides numerous awards for first in English,Hindi(One), Kon, Maths, Science, Soc Science,Maths & Science Combined.Similarly for Second in subjects of Maths Science, English , , Kon, Soc. Science and only one for Third in Kon. Maths in std IX for all 3, First in Std II at SMA and Std IV Assumpta.Altar Boy & Girl at OL.Hope church.FIRST Boy, First Girl and Second Girl among 3 schools.

Fr Antimo Gomes teacher awards to 16 DSE schools, 4 by rotations yearly Sponsored Teacher awards by Banks are also in place APPRECIATION Recipients of awards scoring 99 and 100 marks,their teachers / Headmasters are honoured with special appreciation Certificates.P.Ed directors of connected schools are also recognised with APPRECIATION Certificates.Recipients get appreciation certificates with names of their subject teachers for scoring 99 / 100 marks in subjects Special envelopes, presentation holders with stickers are provided Backdrop posters for Awards, Scholarships sports etc exist Sports awards. Cash incentives and citations are provided were none exists in the schools in the categories of Best Boy & Girl.Soccer, Athletics, volleyball, basket ball,hockey ,chess , Music for instrument & Violin Scholarships upto graduation in degree course only for Chinchinim Students Science . Engineering, Medicine, Commerce, First at GBSHE degree coursein Science The Trust has 7 publications with details of all awards, Schemes and 2 special files, 4 hand bound compilations on individuals. EVERY recipients must compulsorily thank donors as part of the Trust process.
