Elections a season to sell a dream Parties at top of voices with conviction scream Guarantees thro manifesto promise the moon Post elections all assuarances evaporate soon. Parties not candidates decide policy Promises on behalf by aspirants is hypocrisy No responsibility , accountability after lections ions Voices are stifled by poaching, intimidation ,defections Judge track record of candidate by action Emotional response to gain is convenient reaction Power of vote is lost once cast Wait in hope till 5 years last Excuses, alibis in galore doled By deceit ,false hood maximum votes polled In every elections honest voters fooled Post elections rhetoric gets cooled What is the option voters can demand Post Elections electors all the power command Outcome of victory profess not by your vote Note for vote is politicians famous quote A verbal contract of promises cannot enforce Legal option or recall out ofcourse Suffer in humiliation ,helplessness is recourse Forced to swallow results for better or worse It is not easy to make a valid choice Our precious vote has a limited voice At best choose the lesser evil Spot woolf in sheep clothing ,the devil Post elections voters have absolute no say Parties ,MLA's chart their own way Easiest is to flow with tide Emotions, expectations, aspirations best to hide In a democracy majority has the way Minority at best has its say Voters concerns are kept at bay Parties in their wisdom,experience decide The right to decision and power in them alone reside. Undecided NOTA safe option to tick Confused ,unsure candidate to pick In the past too vote has been taken for granted Legislators are at liberty to jump the wall as wanted Every action right or wrong In the interest of voters their favourite song Repentance is what you can dearly hold Voting alone is sacred duty we are told Results of voting can cause inherent guilt Happiness ,disappointment in system inbuilt No party your concerns will ever address Wail ,mourn , protest ignored for redress.
