From: E A S Sarma Former Secretary to the Government of India
To Shri Rajiv Kumar Chief Election Commissioner Shri Gyanesh Kumar Election Commissioner Dr Sukhbir Singh Sandhu Election Commissioner Dear Dr Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, S/Shri Gyanesh Kumar/ Rajiv Kumar, I understand that the Congress has registered a complaint with the Commission about the Union Home Minister "calling 150 District Magistrates across the country in an attempt to influence the outcome of polls" ( https://www.deccanherald.com/elections/india/lok-sabha-elections-2024-amit-shah-calling-150-dms-across-country-to-influence-poll-result-says-jairam-ramesh-3047854# ). If it is factually correct, does it not amount to interfering with the electoral process, amounting to a corrupt practice under the Representation of People Act? What is the action taken by the Commission? The Commission needs to answer this question along with the other questions I raised in a letter on date. Or, does the Commission consider this yet another public concern that is vexatious?!!
