Hi George,
Pundits or Mullahs are NOT politically educated, for lack of proper education.
Their followers look to them for advice, but there is none coming, so, every
time a Padre says something, these people get aggitated.
There is no cause for this, will the lady President jump to every word Fr Gomes
says? or is Phadte just fearsome of sound opinion raised by an educated
Catholic Religious person!
Being a Padre has he lost his voice automatically? or are these people affraid
that good advice will over take stupidity that is happening in Goa, (thieves
wanting to take power).
What reason there is, that Religion and Politics should not be mixed?
Why shouldn't Astrology (a strong arm of Hindu Religion) and Politcs be mixed?
Why shouldn't Yoga (another Hindu Science) be thought in Schools?
Is Sachin Phadte still stuck in the 19 hundreds? WAKE UP!!! (how old are you!!)
Joe

I think Fr Antimo Gomes, the parish priest of Panaji, has no business
to make a statement asking for president's rule. I think this is mixing
religion with politics.

Damned if they do, damned if they don't. If the church/temple/mosque
gets involved they are slammed. If they do not, they are asked why they are
asleep. What is the happy medium in today's interconnected world where
everything seems to mix (religion, politics, education, science, sport,
economics, etc.)? As someone who is secular, I find it difficult to draw a neat
line on the separation of our various institutions and public policy.
Regards,
George
